Water Apple is a flowering plant in the Myrtaceae family, found in the Greater Sunda Islands, Malay Peninsula, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The waxy pear has spongy, dry to juicy, subacid, bland flesh. The mature fruit is bright red, crisp, and sweet, making it popular. Ripened Water Apple adds flavor to salads, drinks, smoothies, ice creams, and jams.
