The Amazonian Acai palm tree produces the nutrient-dense Acai Berry. The berries’ pulp forms a purple juice, making them popular for smoothies and other drinks. Berry meat is yellow with a dark purple shell.

Cultivation

Flowering and fruits take three to five years. Acai palms thrive in partial shade and damp, acidic soil. They like temperatures over 70°F (21°C). Container-grown Acai palms need drainage holes at the base.
