General Information

The Savannah Cherry is a unique deciduous shrub found in the savannas of eastern and central Brazil. This tropical fruit tree, also known as Jabuti Cherry, Cereja de Cerrado, and Red Pitanga, produces excellent and diverse fruit. It yields small, colorful fruits with thick, juicy pulp that melts in your lips and tastes sweet and delightful when eaten raw or made into jellies, jams, and desserts.

Cultivation

Fruiting begins in 3–4 years.

Moderate maintenance; enjoys full sun and well-drained soil.
