The Limoncillo is a native Garcinia species from Mexico, introduced to fruit producers by Luc Vleeracker. This slow-growing tree benefits from shade in its early years. It produces medium-sized, orange-yellow fruits with a high-quality, sweet, lemony-tart flavor. Each small seed offers a substantial amount of edible flesh, making it a desirable tropical fruit similar to Malabar tamarind.
