Native to Panama and found throughout Central and South America, the Candlestick Plant is known for its long, cylindrical Candle Fruits that hang from branches, resembling freshly dipped candles. These fruits develop from white, bell-shaped flowers that are pollinated by moths and bats. When mature, the plant can produce hundreds of fruits with a fragrance similar to apples and a mild, sweet-sour taste reminiscent of bell peppers and sugarcane. The wax-covered fruits contain a pale-yellow, fibrous pulp with small, edible seeds.
